Jamaican dancehalls developed as places where those who dared could show just how good they were on the dance floor. Ragga dancing is not for the prude or fainthearted, the fashions on the dance floor are revealing and the intricate dance moves can be quite raw and explicit, with some showing traces of traditional African movements. However, to Jamaicans Ragga dancing is a very significant part of Reggae music and often given the same importance as the music itself. From the early days of Jamaican dancehall, to the bashment raves of today, this type of Reggae has always produced some of the greatest, funniest and rudest dance moves."
Actually there are different types of raggae dance. All different, or have evolved thru the era. Such as SKA, Rock Steady, Roots, Pop Raggae, Lover's Rock, Ragga, Uk Dance. Very interesting. History Dated back 1960 which started off with SKA music.
